Immigration Trauma Items

Two questions, informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Guidelines for Mental Health Screening during the Domestic Medical Examination for Newly Arrived Refugees, are being used to assess incidence of violence precipitating migration or during migration to the U.S.

Translation Information:

The 2 immigration trauma questions were translated to Spanish by the Banyan Screening Study (University of Miami Protocol # 20170176) team, Principal Investigator Dr. Victoria Mitrani.  The translation process consisted of 3 steps: translation, back translation, and comparison/reconciliation by a third party in consultation with other native speakers as needed.
