Bystander Attitude Scale-Revised (BAS-R)

The Bystander Attitude Scale-R (BAS-R) is a 16 item modified version of Banyard's Bystander Scale (Banyard et al., 2005). The scale contains 16 statements about behaviors in which students can engage to intervene before, during or after a sexual assault (McMahon, 2010).

Translation Information:

The Bystander Attitude Scale-Revised was translated to Spanish by the Engaging 18-25 Year Old Hispanic Men in Sexual Assault Prevention Study (University of Miami Protocol #20110306) team, Principal Investigator, Dr. Sarah Lawson. The translation process consisted of 3 steps:  translation, back translation, and comparison/reconciliation by a third party in consultation with other native speakers as needed.
